Kelly Keys:
A Foreman for the company
Worked for Evergro since 1997
Kelly's professional background began with his time at Behnke's Nurseries. He began as a laborer in the Woody Department in the growing operations at their Largo site. For 3 years he learned hands on planting process from tissue culture and division and starter plugs, bare root, and all phases of growing and maintenance of Woodies. As part of their ongoing education process Kelly earned his Certificate as Professional Horticulture from the State Department of Agriculture in Maryland. Kelly finished his last two years time at Behnke's as Retail Manager of Woody Plants at the same site. Kelly began working at Evergro in 1997 and as part of that and in the following year he earned Certifications in Advanced Woody Identification and also in Advanced Perennial Identification. He began as a Foreman for the company and trained under Mike Burriss, learning many new applications for the plant trade as it relates to professionally installed and maintained landscapes. At current, after 10 years in this phase of the plant world, Kelly has moved to a position within the company as Supervisor over 3 crews and their foreman he oversees daily as part of his ongoing responsibilities.

Personal - his true joys are the 3 children he enthusiastically helps Melissa, his wife, to raise. He is in charge of the fun, he likes to say, the Sports and Recreation aspects of the family activities. He fondly remembers that he is doing now what he began with his grandmother over 35 years ago as he began the renovation and organization of her perennial gardens at that time, and that he still works, both in that same garden, and in many others seemingly each day.
